Sisters and Brothers,
My heart goes out to the families of the victims of the shooting in El Paso today. In the face of such violence, please know that it is my prayer that St. Paul’s UMC will continue to be a place of peace in times of chaos, comfort in times of grief and hope in times of despair.
I invite you all who feel called to do so to join me in the coming days to offer prayer and grief counseling to those who would find connecting in this way to be helpful. Particularly, if you are trained as a Stephen Minister or a counselor and would like to offer those skills, please contact me at (325) 660-5017 or email@example.com.
If you are looking for a way to respond to today’s tragic event, you might consider donating blood at Vitalant at 424 S. Mesa Hills Drive or 1338 N Zaragoza until 5 p.m. today.
And please check on your friends and loved ones tonight and celebrate the love of God that never ends. May God’s Spirit guide us all as we draw closer to one another, trusting that the God who raised Jesus from the dead continues to bring life from death. And may we be faithful to this work, as well.
