Acts 9:1-4 The first window on the west side of the sanctuary depicts the wild-haired, religious fanatic Saul. He encounters God on the road to Damascus and is struck blind. The Nativity Star above him quietly heralds new life, which Christ brought into the world silently on the day of his birth. Conversion means to “turn around to love,” accepting God’s forgiveness with a renewed obedience. Like Saul, we can be selfish at times. If we are not careful, we can sow brokenness, destruction and loneliness.Through conversion, we are given new life! We observe a new system of values, humanitarian concerns for justice, a deeper, more fulfilling sense of charity. Internally, we experience the divine gifts of peace, joy and love.
