Ephesians 6:16-17; I Corinthians 11:23-25 At the top of the window, the “Shield of St. Paul” emphasizes that the Word of God (the book) contains the Sword of the Spirit, which we use to refute our enemies. The scrolls, at the bottom, symbolize Paul’s epistles. The scrolls contain Christian insight and direction for the young church. Centered in the window are the bread and chalice. They represents the pivotal event of our history, when God gave us the most precious gift, God’s own son. Our Christian ancestors passed on to us the legacy of eternal love and wisdom. Their indelible imprint upon history testifies to a spiritual reality from which they found guidance and strength. Today, we discover our needs are met through the same eternal and unseen God! May we be able to pass on this legacy to our children, the imperishable gift of love.
