Baptism

“Baptism”
The Christian signs of baptism appeared in the catacombs of Rome shortly after the time of Christ. Engraved in tone, they picture the convert receiving God’s mercy and accepting new values of living. The pictographs included the descending dove of the holy Spirit, the red cross for Christ’s love, and the scallop shell with drops of water for man’s obedience in baptism.Suffering (2)“SufferingThe chains and Roam imperial eagle depict the suffering of St. Paul when imprisoned, and tried by Festus and Agrippa. The crown of thorns connects his suffering to Christ, who for the love of us all, endured the cross.
